Enjoy all of the outdoor winter adventure the beautiful Rocky Mountains have to offer – located just 20 miles west of Denver! Ride the lifts and take advantage of free snowcat skiing at Loveland Ski Area or try out the Denver family favorite ECHO Mountain Resort. There are also other winter recreational activities to enjoy – such as snowshoeing*, snowmobiling*, ATV tours*, ice skating. and another favorite – Ice racing at Georgetown Lake.

Soak your cares away in the historic Indian Hot Springs in Idaho Springs or come see why winter is the best time of year to ride The Georgetown Loop Railroad. Special daytime and evening holiday trains run through early January – These heated and enclosed specialty trains allow children of all ages to enjoy the beautiful views and even provide the opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Annually, the first two full weekends of December the Town of Georgetown, Colorado transforms into a bustling Christmas scene reminiscent of Christmas long ago. Thousands come to this beautiful mountain town to experience a traditional Holiday where Christmas hasn’t changed in 100 years: roasted chestnuts, Holiday shopping, horse-drawn wagon rides through Historic Georgetown, and wonderful sights and smells.
Come enjoy appearances by St. Nicholas in his traditional dress and the daily procession of the Santa Lucia, as well as carolers in Victorian costume, dancers, and other family entertainment. Adorned with lights and Christmas greenery and blanketed with snow, the quaint, Historic Town of Georgetown has been a Christmas tradition for generations of Colorado families. This year we hope you will begin making it a tradition of your own!!
