Georgetown Christmas Tree Lighting

Kick off the Holiday Season at the annual tree lighting event in Georgetown.
Bring the entire family for a fun- filled day in Georgetown – catch a ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad, enjoy a warm meal, visit the boutiques, a big bonfire to keep you warm, visit with St. Nick, and don’t forget to stay for the lighting of the Christmas Tree in the early evening while sipping on hot chocolate or apple cider and enjoying live music.
- Tree lighting will be in Downtown Georgetown at the intersection of Rose and 6th Streets (Strouse Park) at approximately 5:15 pm
- Followed by a special reading of “The Night Before Christmas” taking place directly after the Christmas Tree Lighting at the Hamill House – 305 Argentine Street
- Then head over to the John Tomay Memorial Library (605 6th Street) to decorate Christmas Cookies from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Did you know? The movie “The Christmas Gift”, staring John Denver was filmed in Georgetown in 1986 and now the tradition of Letter Day continues to be celebrated!! Children of all ages are welcome to deliver their hand written letters to St. Nick while in Georgetown!
