Interstate 70 runs the length of Clear Creek County so transportation is easily accessible. With numerous choices for lodging with everything from elegant bed and breakfasts to hotels and motels as well as short term rentals by owners we have something for every taste and budget.

And when it comes to dining…Clear Creek County  restaurants offer everything from fine dining to casual bar and grills to fast food…

And as for activities we have a vast array of recreational opportunities. Winter sports vary from downhill, telemark, and cross country skiing to snowboarding, snowmobiles, and snowshoeing.  Want to try ice fishing?  Georgetown Lake can accommodate that interest.  Need to relax after a tough day on the slopes?  Visit Historic Indian Springs in Idaho Springs with mineral baths and private hot tubs. Or perhaps something a little more relaxing? Sit by a fireplace and watch the snow fall for a more relaxing, easy day.

Planning on a visit in the summer?  We have four 14,000 foot peaks that will challenge your hiking skills and thrill your need to see our beautiful mountains.  If you want to hike an easier trail, we have lots of beginner trails also.  And some of the best fishing in the state is right here in Clear Creek County.  We have just opened a new Kayak Water Park in Dumont-Lawson.

You can explore some of our back trails on horseback with a real Colorado Horse Woman at A & A Historical Stables in Idaho Springs. Or ride an authentic narrow gauge train, the Georgetown Loop that runs between Georgetown and Silver Plume.  Clear Creek County has two national scenic by-ways – the Mount Evans scenic Byway which boasts the highest auto road in North America and Guanella Byway just above Georgetown.

In addition, we have biking trails and host the Bob Cook Memorial race every summer.  And you will find lots of wonderful camping facilities as well as lots of four wheel trails.
