Summer Time in Clear Creek County
Planning on a visit in the summer?
We have four 14,000 foot peaks that will challenge your hiking skills and satisfy your need to see our beautiful mountains. If you want to hike an easier trail, we have lots of beginner trails also. And some of the best fishing in the state is right here in Clear Creek County. We have just opened a new Kayak Water Park in Dumont-Lawson.
You can explore some of our back trails with a real Colorado Horse Woman at A & A Historical Stables in Idaho Springs. Or ride an authentic narrow gauge train, the Georgetown Loop that runs between Georgetown and Silver Plume. Clear Creek County has two national scenic by-ways – the Mount Evans scenic Byway which boasts the highest auto road in North America and Guanella Byway just above Georgetown. In addition, we have biking trails and host the Bob Cook Memorial race every summer. And you will find lots of wonderful camping facilities as well as lots of four wheel trails.
