Devil of the Divide Ultra 50k/50m
September 9, 2017
Clear Creek Metropolitan Recreation District (CCMRD) is pleased to present one of the most beautiful and challenging ultra marathons in the state with breathtaking (literally and figuratively) views of Clear Creek County and the divide. This course is not suitable for first time ultra runners. Participants will reach a top altitude over 13,000 feet.
Henderson Mine>Jones Pass>CDT>Herman Gulch>Bard Creek>Empire Finish
The course, as is, is a couple of miles short of a true 50K. We are working with the Forest Service, County and Land Owners to add additional mileage.
There will be 3 aid stations on course approximately located at miles 5, 13, and 25. Participants are required to run with hydration systems that carry at least 20 oz.
- Herman Gulch, 11:30 am (4 hours, 30 minutes)
- Finish Line, 5:00 pm (10 hours)
- Runners must arrive at the Herman Gulch Aid station (approx Mile 13) by 11:30 am to continue on Bard Creek. The finish line closes at 5:00 pm, participants crossing the finish line after 5:00 pm (10 hours) will not be given an official finish or time.
